A 200 m2 “swiss style” house from 1875 that has been renovated to its original state with antique furniture, library, carambole room, authentic colours and wall papers etc.
Sea trout and salmon migrates 3.6km up the Terråk river, which is situated a 3min walk from the house. The average weight of the salmon is 2-3kg and sea trout 1kg. There’s however a fair chance to catch fish far larger than the average weight (se foto album). The fishing is best on higher water levels.
The Åelva river the best salmon river in the area. Our fishing rights covers both sides of the lower 2 km of the river. Åelva has the most dense salmon stock in the region and also a large stock of good sized sea trout. There is also caught a few sea run arctic chars in the lower parts each year. Fishing licence further up the river can be arranged.
For those who enjoy fly fishing in salt water the area around Terråk is perfect for sea trout fishing. The season starts in March and last until the fish starts migrating up the rivers.
In the Tosenfjord you can fish for cod, coalfish, pollock, halibut, mackerel and a variety of salt water species. Trolling for salmo and sea trout is also popular.
In the area around Terråk you will find several good lakes. If you’re primarily interested in catching fish, and cook it, you can visit almost any given lake. Some lakes however have less fish, but of a better size and condition. Lake Nervatnet, Mellavatn and Særvatnet are realtively easy to access and holds lots of fish.
The more dedicated anglers we recommend visiting lake Svartvatnet, Tverråspøylan and Svartåstjørna. We have some additional tips for those who ask very kindly upon arrival.

Regulations: Allowed fishing gear includes fly, lure, spinner, and wobbler. All other baits are prohibited. Maximum one treble hook per line allowed. Preferable without barbs.
Max. size sea trout and salmon is 60 cm. Fishing can continue after quotas are met as long as "catch and release" is practiced.
Quotas: No specific quotas, but we ask our guests to practice catch and release for all fish above 1 kg.
Regulations: It is allowed to fish with spoon, spinner, angler worm. Otter board and fishing nets are not allowed unless you have asked and been given specific permission from us

* Sea trout and salmon are protected in Åbjørvatn, Åbjøra, and tributaries.

* Outside net-prohibited zones: Worms, spoons, spinners, flies, etc. are permitted.
* Within net-prohibited zones: Worm fishing is prohibited.

Regulations:
Permitted equipment: Spoons, spinners, and flies.
Angler worms and bait are prohibited.
Lead weights (external attachments on lines or hooks, loose or split shot) are prohibited during fishing. Exception: Weighted flies, where the weight is integrated into the permanent body of the fly.
Additionally, only one treble hook per fishing tackle/rod is allowed. Applies to all equipment.
When the property was bought in the 1870s, a new farm was set off in Oldervika. At this time, sawmills with planers had recently arrived, which made it reasonable to obtain richly profiled mouldings. This led to a separate style of “Swiss house”, which is characterized by heavy ornamentation around windows and ceilings, as well as wide skirting boards. Inside, it was usual to have pearlescent panels and/or wallpaper. The main house in Olderviken, which was completed in 1876, is built in classic Swiss style and is today the oldest house in Terråk.
Even though the house is in the city center, it is easy to reach good fishing in the fjord and in mountain lakes with high-quality trout fishing. The Terra River, which has a good stock of sea trout, is a few minutes from the house. It is also possible to fish in the Åelva, one of the country’s best salmon rivers.
