Hunting

An approximately 45,000-decare continuous hunting area is offered with Glømhytta as the base. The cabin is located inside the hunting terrain. It is a beautiful and varied hunting area with good opportunities for inland fishing. There is no permanent settlement in the area. If the entire area is used, hunting can be carried out with 4 rifles. The hunting is otherwise exclusive for the first two weeks of the small-game season.

The hunting terrain ranges from about 100 to 1000 meters above sea level. The cabin lies at 140 meters. Distances from the parking area: Terråk village and the Coop market: 25 km, Namsos Airport: 151 km, Brønnøysund: 136 km.

The offer is weekly. Normally, only 2 weeks of hunting are rented out per year. The price applies for up to 4 hunters with 2 dogs.

The cabin is small and simple, suitable for 2–4 people. Access by car follows the road toward Urvold. From there, it is just under 1 km on foot along a trail to the boat at Glømvatnet. From that point, it is about 2 km by rowboat to the cabin. Alternatively, one can walk about 2 km to the cabin from a point farther along the forest road.

Willow ptarmigan

The terrain has about 8,000 decares of willow ptarmigan habitat. The population has been decent in recent years. The terrain lies on the slopes up toward the mountain and is partly steep and rugged.

There are many good fishing lakes in the area, and we recommend bringing a fishing rod. Permission is granted to set nets in Glømvatnet, but due to the risk of disease transmission, bringing your own nets is not allowed. Nets are provided upon arrival. In some mountain areas, there is mobile coverage on Telenor’s network.

Living conditions

Buildings / Structures

Log-built main cabin of about 20 m², newly built annex with four beds. Woodshed and outhouse. Up to 8 sleeping places, but the cabin is best suited for groups of 4–5 people.

Furniture and technical equipment

Simple standard, kitchen table with the bunks used as seating, along with stools. Small kitchenette. No running water in the cabin, but good drinking water about 15 meters from the cabin. Propane cooking stove.

Kitchen equipment and consumables

Everything needed in terms of plates, cutlery, cups, and cookware for 4 people.

Boats

Rowboat on Glømvatnet and on Øvervatnet (Inner Glømvatnet).

Floating equipment

Life jackets must be arranged in advance.

Location

Beautifully located by the Mellomvasstraumen in Glømvatnet. Nearest neighbor: Urvoldhytta, about a 3 km walk away.

Arrival

About 25 km by car from Terråk. From the parking area to the cabin, the trip takes about 1 hour, including rowing across Glømvatnet.
