Urvold watercourse is protected because of its unique geography, its undisturbed nature and its rich population of sea trout and salmon.
The anadromous part of the Urvold watercourse consists of the Ureidelven river which connects the fjord with the 2km long Urvold lake and approx. 1.5km of upper river.
Guests at Ureidet have exclusive fishing right to “their” side (northern) of the Ureidelven river and the river mouth down in the fjord. The fishing right in lake Urvold is shared with the guests at Urvold. The upper river is exclusive to guests at Urvold.
For the most part the lower river is swift and consists of rapids and small pools. On higher water levels some of these pools can be fished. The river mouth is a real hot spot. The same goes for the outlet of lake Urvold. The water course consists mostly of sea trout, but also salmon and sea run char. The char is often caught in end of June, early July.
In the 2km long lake Urvoldvatn the fishing is consistently good throughout the season. Trolling with both lures and flies is effective, but conventional fly/spin fishing from boat or shore is also good. It is approx. 5min walking distance to the lake. We recommend a brown monofilament e.g. maxima chameleon.
Guests at Ureidet also have fishing right in the Terråk river which runs right through the town. The combination of a trip to the grocery store for supplies and a fishing trip is recommended.
You can even go fishing in river Åelva, one of the region’s best salmon rivers. Fishing licence can be arranged.
The Fishing in the fjord is normally good. You can either fish from land at the outlet of the Ureide river, or you can drive to Helstadløkka (20 minutes) and rent a boat there. We can also arrange a cruise on the fjord with experienced fishermen.
In the area around Urvold, there are many good lakes for trout Fishing. Some of the lakes are easy to reach, others are further away. It is possible to use a primitive hut at Reppavatn to better explore the inner parts of the area. Since there is only one cabin in the area, and our guests at Urvold often only go after Sea trout and salmon, the area has a very low strain.
Urvoldvassdraget streches 14km from the fjord to the mountains.
The cain is located at the outlet of the Ureide river, 5 meters from the closest fishing spot and with a great view of the fjord. The lower 3km of the water system holds one of Norways densest population of Sea trout. In addition, this is the southermost water system in Norway with arctic sea char.
Even though the cabin is located far from civilization, it is easy to reach. Park the car and use a boat to the floating dock next to the cabin.
Main cabin about 25 m2 with a hallway, kitchen, living room/lounge suite, annex about 10 m2 with a shower room and a storeroom for wood.
Practical standard, sofa with a coffee table and stools. Kitchen section with oven, fridge and a sink.

Running cold and hot water in the cabin, propane fridge with a small freezer and a propane stove/oven in the cabin. Kerosine lamps in the cabin.Shower in annex with a propane water heater. Wood-burning stove (with an open fire) in the cabin.
A 16′ aluminium boat with a 30 hk motor in the fjord and 2 Hansvik rowing boats in the lake.
4 life jackets, 70-90 kg, lie in the boat upon arrival. No vests in the rowing boats.
The cabin lies close to the Urvold river, about 40 metres from the Tosenfjord and about 15 minutes by boat from Helstad.
By car via Terråk, then 7 km further on to Helstad. By boat from there to the cabin.

Arrival: Our guests are received at Haugen in Terråk and given information about the possibilities in the area, driving instructions, fishing etc.
Beds, down quilts and pillows for 4 persons. Bed linen must be brought, beds are made on request.
Tuor guide and fishing guide can be organized. Guests can be accompanied to the cabin on request.
